Real World. Real TIme.
CASENET®
MISSION STATEMENT

CaseNet®'s goal is to develop, edit, and distribute high quality cases and the best teaching packages by professors across all business and economics disciplines. CaseNet® has several motivations.

First, while many professors already teach cases or case-like material, most have no means to distribute this material outside their home institutions. We believe that the lack of a distribution channel also inhibits some professors from developing case material in the first place.

Second, and conversely, it is difficult for professors to find out about innovative teaching materials at other schools. Furthermore, the current providers of cases do not provide sufficient support to teach their cases easily and well. In contrast, each listing in the CaseNet® line will be accompanied by a comprehensive teaching package - free to instructors who order cases for their students.

Third, we perceive a need for more contact between real world problems and academic research in several areas. While cases have been taught for a long time in business schools, many researchers have not written cases. CaseNet® will recruit those academics to bring that research to life. Consequently, we will be able to provide exciting, real world case materials to complement existing textbooks.

We believe that now is the right time to offer a case distribution network like CaseNet®. There is a clear trend toward the use of more cases at leading business schools. CaseNet® will provide high quality materials that go hand in hand with this trend. In addition, there are pressures at undergraduate institutions for better and more relevant teaching. Integrating case teaching into traditional undergraduate courses is the obvious way to respond to these pressures.
